Sooner than slower

I heard a statement the other day that brought me some inspiration. It was from our lead pastor, Jon Oletzke, who made the comment "sooner than slower". He was referring to the tendency that many people have when it comes to getting things done. All too often we can drift towards the side of "slower". For some things it is good to take your time, but for others it is anything but good to take the slow approach. Here are a few things that I want to do SOONER THAN SLOWER.Leading meIf I can't lead myself I will never be able to lead my family, lead others or lead in the church. It starts with me. We can't afford to put this off.Taking care of my familyI don't want to miss opportunities that I have to love, have fun with and bless my family. My wife and kids must know they are a priority NOW. Someday in the future doesn't work when it comes to taking care of our families.Responding to the needs and desires of my leadersI want to be the type of person that my leader knows they can count on. If they bring up an issue I don't want my response to be "I'll get to it when it is convenient for me." I want to take care of the things they address SOONER THAN SLOWER. This communicates that their priorities are my priorities.Capitalizing on opportunity"You got to strike while the iron is hot..." Old phrase, but true. When there is an opportunity that arises - slower might not work. You just might miss the window of opportunity. When you have a season where there is great potential - DO SOMETHING WITH IT!Obedience to God's direction and callI remember hearing "Delayed obedience is just disobedience." I don't want that to make its way in to my relationship with God. When He calls, I want to be willing and ready to do what He is calling me to do. When I sense Him asking me to lay something down or grow in an area, I want to be someone who will do that sooner than slower. What about you? What are some area's that you want to approach with a "SOONER THAN SLOWER" mindset?
