4 Perspectives for 2013

Here are 4 Perspectives I want active in my life in 2013:1. God can.Sounds simple right? But honestly I think I am often guilty of not living like that simple statement is true. If you are anything like me, at times you probably find yourself stressed, worried or wondering if things are going to come together or work out. No matter how I feel about the circumstances that life might throw at me, GOD CAN. I know my limitations. I know my weaknesses. I know the areas where I feel like I can't. More important than knowing all those things about me is knowing that God can! 2. People matter. As I look at the bible there is one thing that is clearly important and valuable to God: PEOPLE. I want the life that I live to declare that people matter. They don't matter because they do the things I want them to do or do everything right. They don't matter because they help propel or prop up my agenda. They simply matter because they are valuable to God. When I believe that, they should become valuable to me.I've been thinking about this quote from Zig Ziglar,

"If you go looking for a friend, you're going to find they're scarce. If you go out to be a friend, you'll find them everywhere."

 3. Laugh & Enjoy life.Life is short. Each day is a gift. I am determined to laugh more and enjoy each day. This doesn't mean that I have an unrealistic expectation that there will be some challenging moments. What this means is that I want to enjoy each day. I don't want to take myself so serious that I miss the opportunities to simply LAUGH and ENJOY LIFE. 4. Receive & Extend Grace. My life has been changed; Not because of anything I have done. It is completely by the grace and goodness of Jesus. Yet each day I am reminded of the fact that I need His Grace at work in my life.

Our worst days are never so bad that we are outside of the REACH of God's grace. Our best days are never so good that we are outside of the NEED of God's grace.

I want to approach life with a dependance on what His grace can produce in my life, not just what my efforts can accomplish. As much as I need to RECEIVE it, I also need to EXTEND it. That is the beauty of grace. It's not just for me, for you or for a select few. It is available to all who would put their faith in the work that Jesus has already done for them! That's Good News! What about you? What are some new attitudes or perspectives that you want to put in action this year?
