Right People + Right Place = Right Product

Even though I enjoy playing basketball, I will be the first to admit that I'm not great at it.This was first realized while in jr. high playing on my school's basketball team.  For some reason someone decided to pass me the ball when I was near half court.  I knew this would most likely be my first and last opportunity to take a shot...so I went for it.  My shot was so bad that I not only missed the shot, but the ball went OVER the backboard and hit the back wall of the gym.Needless to say, the memory still haunts me from time to time.Having the right people in the right spots makes all the difference.  In fact, a huge part of getting the right results in any team or organization is having the right people in the right place. Here is a simple equation: RIGHT PEOPLE + RIGHT PLACE = RIGHT PRODUCTA great illustration of this is seen in Acts 6:1-7.Needs of people were being overlooked and missed (wrong product). The leaders were focusing their time on trying to meet the needs but were not able to focus on what they should be doing (right people, wrong place). They decided to find some people to meet these needs and make sure the food was being distributed as needed (right people and right place). This enabled the leaders to focus on what they should do.  With this they saw the church continue to grow and flourish! (right product). We can't underestimate the importance of this principle within leadership.  As much as we want the right people, we need to get them into the right place so that we will experience the right product!
