It's Good News

Everyone enjoys receiving good news.Very few people (if any at all) look forward to bad news.In Luke 2:10 the angel shared with the shepherds, "I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people."It was good news.As Christians we can be guilty of making the gospel something that it is not.  Anger, doom and gloom were not in the angels vocabulary that day. At times we communicate to the world around us that the gospel of Jesus is anything but Good News.Yet the news that God loved the world so much that He sent His only Son to die in our place - to purchase our freedom from sin with His own life - that is Good News.  It is Good News to know that as I put my faith in the work that Jesus completed on the cross for me, I don't just receive a touched up or slightly refurbished life - I get a new life in Christ!  That is Good News.Good News brings great joy!It's Good News to know that we don't have to be lost in our sin.  It is Good News to know that I don't have to depend upon what I can do to be saved.As The Church, lets keep the Good News what it is - Good News!
