A Healthy Mindset

We all get busy. I am assuming that you don't sit around day after day wondering what you can do with all the extra time you have available to you. In the midst of all the requirements and responsibilities, there is something we can do - a mindset that we can embrace - that leads us to health.

In Mark 6, Jesus disciples had just returned from a busy time of ministry. They were excited to share with Jesus all they had seen and accomplished.

The apostles returned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught. And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. And they went away in the boat to a desolate place by themselves.

(Mark 6:30–32, ESV)

Jesus understood what his disciples needed.

Here is the good news - He understands what we need as well.

Notice that Jesus isn't a heartless taskmaster. He cares for the individual. He takes note of their humanity. He understands what they need in order to be healthy.

A Healthy Mindset Makes the Choice To:

WORK WITH Jesus & REST IN JESUS.

Today, when you go about your work, remind yourself (embrace a mindset) that you are going to work WITH Jesus.

Partner with Him.

Bring Him in to the details.

Along with this, remember Jesus words and call to "get away and rest". This isn't a call to throw off responsibility, is a call to recharge for it. Jesus knows what your soul needs. There is someone who is All-Powerful (hint: it isn't us). Embrace the gift of resting IN Jesus.

Rest in the work that He has finished for you.

Rest in the gift of grace and a new identity.

Rest in His love.

Rest in His efforts, not in your efforts.

Today, work WITH Jesus and rest IN Jesus.
