Week of Prayer & Fasting

Prayer is powerful. It has often been said that “prayer changes things”. It is amazing to think that the God who created everything, invites us to not just talk AT HIM, but communicate WITH HIM! As we prepare to head into a new year, I want to invite you to join with us at Life Center Rainier for a week of prayer and fasting. That may sound intimidating or overwhelming, but it doesn’t need to be. Jesus wants to help us connect with Him! When the disciples asked Jesus how to pray, He responds with what we call The Lord’s Prayer. This week, we will take a section of the Lord’s Prayer each day and make it a corporate focus of prayer.

In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Matthew 6:9-13 (NKJV)

Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

Todays Prayer Focus: Spend time praising God and worshiping Him for who He is. Reflect on the strength and power of His name (Matthew 12:21, Acts 4:12, John 14:6).

Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

Todays Prayer Focus: Pray that God’s purposes would take place personally, in your family, in our church, in our city, in our nation and in our world. (Isaiah 55:11, Luke 4:43, John 10:10)

Give us this day our daily bread.

Todays Prayer Focus: Pray that God would provide “daily bread” and meet our needs. Pray this for your family, for our church and the ministries that we support locally throughout the (253) and globally. (Matthew 6:25-33, Genesis 22:6-8, Psalm 34:9-10)

And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.

Todays Prayer Focus: Repent of sin and extend forgiveness to those who have sinned against you. Ask God to give you grace to walk with a pure heart. Pray for power to stand up against the attacks of the enemy. Pray this for you personally, your family and for the church. (Ephesians 6:10-18, Colossians 3:1-10, Luke 6:37, 1 Corinthians 10:13, 1 John 1:9)

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Todays Prayer Focus: Pray that God’s priorities would be our priorities. He is in control and it is all for His glory. (John 15:8, Psalm 96:8, Philippians 1:11, 2 Timothy 2:10)
